Well the ankle is healing up but of course slower than I would like. Can walk around a little and slowly go up and down stairs. Been 45 days since I badly twisted my ankle and cracked the femur bone. From what I’ve been told, I’m actually healing well for an older guy. If you look at the photo below, at the pole to the far right, it was just past there where I messed myself up. As my friends and adopted family here in the Philippines and my family back in the states always tell me. “David, watch where you are going. You are so clumsy, you have to pay attention when you are out shooting.” Well this time they were right. Sigh!!
Well anyway. I’m mending. Got on my elliptical exerciser for the first time more then 6 weeks yesterday. Felt good, but realised I have really fallen out of shape again. But at least there was no pain. Should be back out shooting soon. Think I’ll focus more on scenics and landscapes for a little while. You know places with not traffic and sidewalks that attack you… Some people worry about crime in the Philippines. Forget that, it is the sidewalks you have to watch out for. That’s where the real danger is. Sidewalks, streets and crazy out of control trikes. Ahh, but life is good as long as you don’t break something. I have been pampered and spoiled by friends, and practically smothered with caring. Mind you I’m not complaining. I’m so happy that so many people cared for me. Would have been rough if I was completely on my own. That is the real heart and soul of the Philippines and the way they care.
